Rajarhat New Town area in the North 24 Parganas has recently become the home of top IT companies including TCS and Ericsson. A lot of regular commuters have to come to this part and face problems despite the fact that there are plenty of transportations available. There are autos and shuttle along with cabs that are available in this area. Quite a number of buses have been introduced too. A Monorail Project has been planned in the Rajarhat area.
But to cater to a huge crowd who will avail the East West metro once the project is completed, a monorail project will be actually perfect. The 16km long roué will be divided in two parts that will cover the entire township of Rajarhat area. This will link the metro and thus will be of great help to ease the problems of the regular commuters who travel to this area.
At present there is only one monorail project in Mumbai that has 4 coaches and can carry 10,000 passengers per hour in one way. The Rajarhat project will be realised by Scomi Engineering. This is a famous company of Malaysia who has come up with quite a few monorail projects all over the world. Global standards will be maintained while making this project in Rajarhat area. Ghanshyam Sarda of the famous Sarda Group has backed this particular project.
