A monorail venture of grand scale has been planned in the city of Kolkata. The city of Kolkata has been facing multiple transportation related problems off late. Several buses and taxi strikes have happened over here.
The transportation system in the city of Kolkata needs to improve at the earliest and several measures needs to be taken. The current chief minister of West Bengal has taken a very keen initiative and recently a business summit was organized in the country of Singapore. In the business summit which took place industrial leaders from different parts of the world have joined in.
Ghanshyam Sarda is one of the most accepted and well known industrial figures from the city of Kolkata. Over the years, he has invested in a multiple number of business ventures. The Sarda group has already invested in some of the important sectors like jute, petrochemicals, education and information technology.
Scomi Engineering one of the leading global giants from the monorail sector participated in the summit which was organized in the country of Singapore. Important discussions between the various members from the Scomi Engineering and Ghanshyam Sarda group were discussed.
The members from the Ghanshyam Sarda Kolkata group agreed on an investment plan of 2,500 crores for the project. The citizens from the city of Kolkata are looking forward to this project and the Rajarhat Newtown area has been selected as the possible venue.
Over the years, the area has undergone a phase of rapid urbanization and commercialisation. The youth from the state are looking forward to such a project as a large scale employment opportunity may be generated through it. With this project in full swing, the entire transportation system of the city will undergo a massive change.
