The scene of the jute industry in West Bengal and India certainly needs to improve. With the very recent murder of the CEO at the Northbrook jute mill, the state of the industry is not in good shape. Northbrook is one of the most important jute mills in West Bengal and the murder has created a great fear in the industry.
The murder has sent great shock to the industry and shaken it in a major way. A variety of pay related disputes have been hampering work at the Northbrook jute mill for a while. A bunch of miscreants attacked the CEO from all ends and murdered him which created a furore.
Ghanshyam Sarda is one of the top class industrialists from the state of West Bengal. Owning several jute mills from across the country, he has proved his credential as one of the market leaders who is quite proactive.
At this time of severe crisis, he extends comprehensive support to the industry and wants to stand by it in every way.A major number of citizens are relying on the jute industry for their living. A major number of citizens would be affected if work in the industry stops completely. The Northbrook jute mill has many workers in all and most of them have lost their employment as a result of this.
A number of unions have led to the nervousness in the industry. A number of unions are found in the jute mills which results in considerable interference from the political level. The state government of West Bengal was already informed about the crisis in the jute mills but no attention has been given till now. Many of the mills in the state of West Bengal have closed down and certainly more will also follow suit. The members from the Ghanshyam Sarda Kolkata group are quite concerned about the problem which has been experienced.
