A monorail project of major scale
is coming up in the city of Kolkata. With the initiative of the chief minister
of West Bengal, the state is looking forward to a variety of measures related
to industrialization. The current chief minister wants new industries in the
state which can enhance its image to the outside world. Recently, a business summit of grand scale
was held in the city of Singapore where industrial leaders from different parts
of the world participated.
This was a global business summit
and several important decisions regarding investment in the state of West
Bengal was taken here. Ghansyham Sarda is one of the renowned
names from the industrial circle of the state and the multi-crore Sarda group
participated in the event. Scomi Engineering, one of the most important
companies with a foothold on the global monorail business also participated in
the event. It stood out as one of the most important meetings for the two
groups.
Some of the most important members from the Ghanshyam
Sarda Kolkata group participated in the event. In the business discussion which was held at
the summit, the members talked about the various ways to take the project
forward. The total estimated investment for the project stands at 2,500 crores
and both the groups agreed on the same. A memorandum of understanding with the
government of West Bengal was also signed in this particular regard.
Scomi Engineering is one of the
market leaders in the periphery of global monorail business. It has already
successfully completed projects in some of the most important cities like
Mumbai, Kualalampur and Sao Paulo. The Rajarhat Newtown area of Kolkata has
been identified as the best possible venue for the project. Over the years, this area has undergone rapid
urbanization and the monorail project will improve it further.
